This is a company officer level position that is responsible for the specific activities and daily operations of an assigned shift; to assist the training officer with training, conduct evaluations, and overall management of the shift; and to provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to a Division Chief and the Chief of the District. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training employees; planning; assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing concerns and resolving issues. Possess the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exits. Working shifts 48 on, 96 off, with call backs as needed for emergencies and/or cover shifts.
